Housecleaning is the last thing that most of us want to do, especially when our time could be occupied by more interesting pursuits.
However, there are ways to make your home keeping that little bit easier. We discuss how below.
These insignificant yet very useful things will help keep all manner of mud and dirt out of your home and will mean that you will not have to retrace your steps with the mop too often.
Start from the top
Always start by dusting and polishing your top shelves first. If you start from the bottom and work your way up, you'll end up having to do it all again, as the dust and dirt will make its way to the floor.
Disinfect your sink
Did you know that your kitchen sink has more bacteria than a toilet seat? If you don’t want those unpleasant germs to end up on your cutlery – and food – then be sure to disinfect these thoroughly.
Pick the right equipment
The cleaning equipment that you use will have a major impact on how effective your cleaning is.
For example, when using a broom to sweep the floor, choose one with fine bristles so that it is better able to pick up the smaller dirt particles.
Clean as you go
This is the single most effective way to prevent dirt and dust building up in the home and becoming problematic.
Rather than waiting until the end of the week, or holding off until a designated cleaning day, it is instead better to do a small amount every day so that your house stays clean throughout.
As the old saying goes, a problem shared is a problem halved. If you are living with other people, then rather than taking on all of the heavy burden of cleaning yourself, why not draw up a rota and ensure that everybody pulls their weight?
This will also help to make the whole process of cleaning much quicker and simpler.
Sponges are another hotbed for unpleasant germs and viruses. To ensure they stay microbe-free, disinfect them every night and put them in a microwave for a couple of minutes to get rid of the nasties.
Clean small toys in a laundry bag
If you have got kids and loads of cuddly toys lying around, it is easier to clean these all in one go by putting them in a laundry bag and sticking them in a washing machine.
Don’t do the cleaning!
And here is perhaps our strangest tip of all: don't do the cleaning. No really. If you are pushed for time, why not get a cleaning company to do the cleaning for you, instead of doing it all yourself?
As we said earlier, delegation is the name of the game. For a small fee, why not let professional cleaners such as Nviro take on all the heavy lifting for you, while you sit back, relax and dedicate your time to more interesting pursuits.
