Celebrating our People in Staff Appreciation Week
Posted on: Tuesday, June 27th, 2017
We held a week-long celebration of our staff from 12-16 June to recognise and praise the fantastic work they do. Over the course of the week, there were daily prizes up for grabs and a chance to win £250 in vouchers as well as the launch of our exciting new SHINE recognition scheme.
Cleaning with a Conscience is not just a strapline – it is a real and living ethos running through our organisation. We look after our people so that they look after our customers.
We know that a happy, motivated, and incentivised workforce is more engaged with their work, more productive in their job and deliver better performance. Day in and day out, our frontline and head office staff work tirelessly in helping to deliver shining environments in which our customers can thrive.
Why only appreciate staff for one week of the year you may be wondering? We have an embedded culture of continued appreciation through a variety of recognition schemes, awards and initiatives that positively praise and thank our staff for their hard work and dedication. We think our staff are pretty awesome – this milestone week gives us the perfect opportunity to shout about it.
Hannah Miller, Nviro’s Head of People, said: “Our success is purely down to the great people we have within Nviro. Whilst we value our amazing people every day, staff appreciation week is a great way to take some time out to express our gratitude and appreciation to our staff and the invaluable contribution they make and celebrate the tremendous work that goes on. It is also an opportunity for our people to experience new things within the business. This year’s staff appreciation week has been a great success and I am looking forward to our next staff initiative in August where we will all be getting together to do some team building for our annual Staff Development Day!”
Our HR and marketing teams have worked hard behind the scenes to make the week a success. We announced daily prize giveaways for frontline staff and monthly salaried head office staff through our new Employee Portal. The winners were:

In Omaira’s winning entry he said: “I love the place where I work and the people I work with. I am treated with respect and I feel valued. I have already recommended Nviro to my friends as it has a great work ethic and is a welcoming and friendly environment to work in.”
Nviro senior management also went out to visit frontline teams to show their appreciation face-to-face. We also held a meet and greet session with our MD, Brian Warren, for staff to ask any questions in an informal setting.
Our Directors went out visiting staff on our customer sites and also got their hands dirty. John French, Sales and Marketing Director, spent the day with Diego Ortiz our Service Manager for the Sutton area, in Reigate and Banstead cleaning the public toilets. John said: “I really enjoyed my time and appreciate the time and effort that our front line staff put into their jobs.”
