About Save the Children

For nearly 100 years Save the Children charity has been protecting children across the world. They fight for children’s rights, provide education, tackle exploitation and trafficking, reduce poverty and provide medical services and aid to emergency and non-emergency situations. Save the Children believe it is every child’s right to not only survive but to thrive.

Save the children operate in 68 different countries, four offices are located in the UK with London being the head office. Approximately 800 staff work over four floors at any one time.

Working with Nviro

Nviro and Save the Children have been working together since August 2015 after Nviro were chosen as the preferred supplier on a three year contract, recently the contract has been extended to continue the partnership.

Some of the different areas Nviro cover include general office cleaning, common areas, toilets and kitchen points. To help with the continuous improvement for this site, a dedicated Service Manager was implemented to ensure Save the Children receive a safe, clean and hygienic environment.

Innovation and Progression

Since the start of the contract in 2015, Nviro has implemented and adapted a variety of equipment which has contributed to a successful outcome at the Save the Children Head Office.

Steam Cleaning Machine:

Nviro use steam cleaning machines across the site at Save the Children and in particular every day on a round robin basis on toilet floors to kill germs and leave surfaces sterile without the need for toxic chemicals. This has allowed Nviro to provide the employees at Save the with a complete washroom experience.

Multi-wash machines:

Multi-wash machines are used across the building to mop, scrub and dry both hard and soft floor coverings in one go which helps to provide safe, clean and hygienic environments for the building users at Save the Children.

Back pack vacuums:

Back pack vacuums were introduced into this contract, particularly for the Day Janitors as this piece of equipment is light weight and powerful. This enables Nviro to clean hard to reach areas throughout the site, making this ideal for spot cleaning.

Ultra-speed flat mopping systems:

Nviro introduced Ultra-speed flat mopping systems at Save the Children to clean the hard floors quickly and efficiently with minimal water usage.

Using this system helps increase productivity allowing the floor to be dryer than a conventional system without the use of chemicals while reducing the health & safety risk.

Enhancing our Partnership

In April 2017, Nviro collaborated with Save the Children when Managing Director Brian Warren represented the charity by running the London Marathon. This required four hard months of training for Brian to be ready to run the 26.2 mile course. Due to the help from fellow employees and friends, over £3000 was fundraised for Save the Children. Each year Nviro participate in the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day where money is raised to help aid Save the Children.
