Covid – 19: how we are working to support our customers and look after our people.

Long has our motto been that we are here to provide safe, clean and hygienic environments to ensure our customers and their building users thrive. Well, for now, we are focusing on keeping everybody safe. Doing our bit for infection control to keep your buildings hygienically clean and playing our part in helping to reduce the spread of the virus.

The coronavirus outbreak has impact us all and we wanted to reassure our valued customers that we are doing everything we can to ensure that yours and our businesses continue to operate as normally as we can in such an abnormal situation. In light of the pandemic, we will remain as flexible and fluid as we can, doing all we can to support our customers and their service/building users.

Over the next few weeks we will be working hard to ensure as much coverage as we can to our customers with a greater focus on those providing service for key workers. Like all businesses we are going to have to change how we do this for a while to protect the health and well-being of everyone, especially our staff.

What are we doing

We have sought clarification that we have got it right with best practice and safe provision of service and gained confirmation of the effectiveness of our methods and chemicals in tackling the virus from a variety of sources including Public Health England.

Our staff have been updated on safe methods of working, are provided with the correct PPE for the given task and supported and monitored by our wrap around support teams including Health and Safety experts and close supervision and management. Regular updates are shared on the correct way to work and product availability to all our staff through our intranet, email, WhatsApp groups and on site briefings.

We are following government advice and ensuring that all staff who can work from home do so. We are supporting all of our employees in taking care of their families at this time and ensure that those who need to isolate are able too.

All meetings both internally and externally, are now taking place via Microsoft teams, Skype or on the phone to adhere to social distancing requirements but to also enable the much needed virtual social contact at this time and support our ongoing partnership working with you.

Managing expectations

Despite our resilience and drive to continue to provide you with a high quality service and meet your growing/changing needs, we are battling against the repercussions of the virus.

We are beginning to see a reduction in staff available to work, demand for materials being unable to be met and an unprecedented amount of change to customer needs and availability. This is presenting us with many logistical challenges to overcome safely each day.

In the last 7 days we have seen 13% of our workforce go into isolation and we fully understand this will continue. Our people are working in public facing environments and as such face contracting the virus.

Where possible we are amending the tasks undertaken in each site to suit the current need. We are moving staff to different sites to cover absent staff and prioritise sites that are defined as critical by the government.

However, logistically there will soon be a time where we do not have enough staff to meet client demand or customer sites that require the building to be cleaned. We are working to retain staff through this difficult time through use of the Government funded furlough scheme. We need to ensure we are able to revert back to business as usual after this undetermined period of change and our customers look to return buildings to operational use.

Please do keep in touch

Do feel free to contact us if there is something you need our help with or need us to do differently. The situation changes for everyone on a daily basis so open, transparent and frequent communication will see us all delivering the best service we can at this time and offer us all that much needed collaboration, support and connection.
