‘Clean and fresh’ for summer months

July 22nd, 2013 Category: Office Cleaning

Keeping the office clean and fresh in the summer months is a great way of maximising worker productivity and improving the perception of visitors.

The uncharacteristically hot start to the British summer has caught us all off guard, with offices becoming rather unpleasant places to be as the heatwave brings soaring temperatures. Air conditioner malfunctions and locked windows typically happen during the hottest spells of the year, resulting in stuffy working environments which are in no way conducive to productivity.

But if the right steps are taken, the office can be quickly turned into a rather pleasant place to work during the summer months. As long as the area is well cleaned and there are plenty of additions in place making it look fresh, the combination of summer sun in a pleasant working environment can actually bully employee’s spirits, resulting in obvious corporate gains.

Preparation and day-to-day care is key to making this happen. Ensuring the air conditioning and fans are well cleaned will guarantee they operate efficiently and don’t malfunction. Giving the curtains and windows a good wipe down will also remove the level of dust being circulated by the increased ventilation.

In order to get the room feeling fresh, think about adding office plants which will bring the outside summer smells indoors. Plants are also a great way of keeping the air clean, which is really important in warmer periods when humidity and high levels of Co2 are generated. Polishing surfaces and organising clutter will also keep the place fresh, and it’s important to keep on top of things on a daily basis.
