Invest in the office and companies will invest in you

February 26th, 2013 Category: Office Cleaning

Building a successful business takes time, but once the internal workings have been sorted, addressing the client-facing side of the company becomes priority number one.

For new or established companies there is often a mountain of administrative tasks at hand which can be daunting to say the least. What is important is that the niggly parts of the business don’t take over the company’s ultimate goal, which is attracting clients and building a healthy environment in which people can work.

The office or showroom is the first thing that clients see, which means it is of the utmost importance that its presentation is top notch. Business owners or managers should enter the workplace everyday as if they were a client. This will help you assess whether your premises is up to scratch or whether a good office cleaning is in order.

Furthermore, a good office environment has been proven to increase productivity from the staff members. Nicholas Green, founder of printed.com, told growthbusiness.co.uk that businesses should be investing in the right office environment as a top priority.

He said: “I would say that one of the best decisions I made was investing time, effort and budget into thinking about the office environment. I have a vested interest in how I can create an environment in which people want to work in and can be used to attract the best talent.”

For Mr Green, the best way to create a healthy office environment was to observe industry leaders in his space. As a tech company, he looked at how eBay and Google had transformed their work-space to improve office morale, and started to get creative with the things in the office. Since making the investment, the office has seen new inclusions such as a classic sweets and chocolate dispenser and a bar. As a result, the business has attracted some of the leading talent in the marketplace that may not have considered the company before.
